Drew Sheneman
Drew Sheneman has been the editorial cartoonist for The Star-Ledger (Newark, N.J.) since 1998. With exceptional artistry, his politically liberal cartoons help readers understand issues ranging from pop culture and politics to technology.
Sheneman began cartooning in college and worked as an intern at The Detroit News and The Oakland Press (Pontiac, Mich.) He joined The Star-Ledger two weeks after his graduation, the youngest full-time editorial cartoonist in the country at the age of 23. His work has been featured in The New York Times, Washington Post, L.A. Times and Sports Illustrated among others. His work is nationally syndicated by Tribune Media Services
Sheneman has won the respect of his peers and a variety of major national awards for his editorial cartooning, including the Charles Schulz Award given by Scripps Howard and the John Locher award given by the Association of American Editorial Cartoonists.
Sheneman graduated from Central Michigan University with an art degree and returned to live and work in New Jersey, where he grew up. He and his wife and daughter reside in Bedminster.
